On Saturday, Barcelona defeated Sevilla 3-0 thanks to goals from Raphinha and Eric Garcia and Robert Lewandowski, who now has five goals in four LaLiga games for Barcelona. With 10 points after the victory, Barcelona moves up to second place in the standings, two points behind Real Madrid.

However, it was the third defeat in as many games for Julen Lopetegui’s squad, who now sit in 17th place with only one point. Sevilla had a strong start, pressing Barcelona high and cornering their opponents while being cheered on by their supporters in the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, which was completely packed out.
However, the visitors stunned the audience with a quick counterattack that culminated with Raphinha hitting a rebound from a Lewandowski chipped shot that a defender saved off the line in the 21st minute. After departing to join Barcelona this summer, Jules Kunde made his return against Sevilla fifteen minutes later.
Kunde fired a precise cross into the box, which Lewandowski caught on his chest before volleying into the bottom left corner. The Polish striker, who made a splashy move to join Barca from Bayern Munich this summer, is already tied for the league’s most goals with Celta forwards Iago Aspas. Barcelona grabbed charge of the game and had the opportunity to win by a far wider margin.
Following a solid run just before the break, Ousmane Dembele had an excellent chance to add a third goal, but his chipped shot over the goalie went just wide of the left post. A corner was headed by Kunde at the right post ten minutes into the second half and passed to Garcia, who slammed it home from close range to secure the three points.
Frenkie de Jong nearly scored off the rebound when Lewandowski attempted to lob the goalkeeper once more in the 73rd minute during a counterattack, but he was again stopped by a defender. Five minutes later, the Dutch midfielder again missed the post with his attempt.
Raphinha said, “It was a tough game, but we managed to impose our gameplan, the style that we are trying hard to build this new season. “We must control the contest and have possession of the ball. That is who we are. However, the season is lengthy, and we still have a long way to go.”
