Midway through the first half, Sane, a former Manchester City winger, had excellent control before he rounded goalkeeper Andre Onana and scored. Following a deft one-two between Sane and Kingsley Coman, Bayern sealed the victory with an own goal by Danilo D’Ambrosio.

It was the perfect start for Bayern in a group that also includes Barcelona, whom they will host next Tuesday and who destroyed Viktoria Plzen 5-1.

Onana performed well to stop Sadio Mane, a former Liverpool attacker now playing for Bayern, from entering the game. They might have won by a larger margin.
Next Tuesday, when Inter plays Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic, they will want to get back on track.
Chelsea fires Thomas Tuchel as manager after Champions League loss
After suffering their third loss of the year, Chelsea fired manager Thomas Tuchel on the 100th day under their new ownership.
The former manager of Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain leaves after 20 months and three trophies.
Till a replacement is found, owner Todd Boehly has appointed Tuchel’s coaching staff as interim management.
The owners thought it was “the perfect time” to hire a new head coach, according to a club statement.
It is also believed that Chelsea would swiftly appoint a replacement, with Brighton manager Graham Potter, former Spurs and PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, and current Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers among the betting favorites to succeed.
Following three victories, one tie, and two losses, Chelsea is currently sixth in the Premier League.
Eight new players were acquired by their new owners during a £255.3 million spending binge in the summer transfer window, which is regarded to be a British record.
However, despite the investment, the team’s performance had been inconsistent, and Tuchel had occasionally been critical of his players. He had also already received two fines this season for his conduct.
It’s thought that Tuchel, who guided Chelsea to the Champions League victory in his debut season, had recently lost the trust of the team and the board and had cut back on communication with both.
According to a club statement, “the new ownership group believes it is the proper moment to make this change as it approaches 100 days since taking over the club, and as it continues to work hard to push the team forwards.”
“Chelsea FC would like to publicly express its appreciation to Thomas and his team for all of their work while they were club employees. After helping Chelsea win the Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup during his tenure there, Thomas will rightfully have a part in Chelsea’s history.”
According to BBC Sport, Chelsea will now search for a long-term manager who shares their goals for a culture of cooperation and a commitment to the growth of every member of the team.
Tuchel is rumored to have become less involved as time went on. New additions, including as the deadline day deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, were made possible thanks to the board’s cooperation.
Four months after taking over for Frank Lampard on January 26, 2021, Tuchel led the team to their second Champions League championship.
Later that year, he added the Fifa Club World Cup and the Uefa Super Cup.
