In honor of pink in fashion and art, photographer Amer Mohamad from Russia presents you with a set of lovely pink photos. He was inspired by the work of Pater Sato, a famous Japanese painter (1945-1994). Pater Sato’s art is a futurist epic, saturated with color and glorifying sexuality. Looking at his work, you feel your soul becomes free and open.
In the set of photos, you see two girls with two different hair styles and shapes. But the common point is that the two sets of hair express the futuristic, impressive and loving beauty.
Amer Mohamad explains: “Humans have taken giant steps in evolutionary history: Flying into space, telescopes observing distant planets. People still dream of new lands. The hair in this series is reminiscent of diverse but primitive ocean-based life forms. It’s seahorses, sea urchins, starfish, or sea worms.”
Hairstylist Petya Bogdanov asks: “Other planets may have a different color spectrum than Earth. For example, the ocean there may not be blue but pink.” So his two model girls have pink hair. So why is there platinum hair in the photo? “It was an attack on Mars,” laughs Amer Mohamad.
Pink is a controversial color in fashion. Those who love it, those who hate it. Pink inspires immortal songs like Think Pink in the movie Funny Face by Audrey Hepburn, or La Vie En Rose by French singer Edith Piaf. Today, pink is associated with femininity. But before the 19th century, it was considered the color of men, when it was equated with pale red.
