Every time you buy clothes and fashion accessories, you will see most of them wrapped in plastic packaging. After taking out the product, even though the packaging is beautiful, we still have to throw it away. Stylist Jenny Gold works daily with photo shoots and stylists, so she understands this more than ever. Together with photographer Per Florian Appelgren , she created the Plasticize series . Harper’s Bazaar temporarily translates as What to Do with Plastic to convey their creative ideas.
The Plasticize – What to Do With Plastic series deals with today’s environmental problems. Using waste packaging as decorations, they create fashion photo works. To capture this set of photos, they collected waste packaging from everyday life. Other fashion items and accessories are selected and combined to harmonize with the plastic item.
This picture story is meant to remind us of environmental problems. The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world. Everyone should find a way to turn waste into something beautiful and useful for the environment.
Per Florian Appelgren was born and raised in Germany and Switzerland. He mainly focuses on fashion and beauty photography. His keen eye, and attention to detail, helps him create vivid and meaningful images.
The interesting thing about Per Florian Appelgren is: He graduated in International Business and Politics, but did not pursue this path. His love and enthusiasm are devoted to art photography. He confided to Harper’s Bazaar: “My mother is active in the field of art. My artistic path is probably due to her influence.” Currently, he lives and works in Cologne, Germany. His clients are diverse, from domestic to international.
